Actions
We have heard from everyone today that there are lots of small things that everyone can do, but we don't always know what the right things to do are.
- Design a costing list of commonly used items to be distributed
- Work through some patient journey examples were costings can be made easily and high quality patient care is maintained throughout
- Ensure departments to put prices in their stock cupboards to promote awareness
- Encourage teams to turn off lights and computers at the end of a day when they are not needed
- If you have an idea, big or small please email fitforthefuture@hhft.nhs.uk
We heard a lot about different practices happening across areas and sites and even wider in HIOW. It would be great to learn from one another and share all the best practice.
- Regular Fit For the Future case studies will be shared in comms, please look out for them to see what you can implement in your area.
- If you have made a saving - shout about it! We would love to hear about any savings you make so we can share it widely. This might be a one off saving or a transformational long term saving.
- If you need support with your budget then reach out and ask early. There are lots of people who can help break down the cost saving asks and work through ways to bring this to life.
During the Big Conversation there were lots of questions about what is already happening and what ideas have already been raised.
- There are two weekly Fit For the Future newsletters which you can catch up on here.
- A Trustnet page is now live and is constantly being updated with ideas that are underway and sharing learning. You can visit it here to learn about all the great idea!
- If you have an improvement idea you would like to talk to someone about contact the QI team here.
There are lots of ways you can get involved in our Big Conversation going forward, please email us at culturechange@hhft.nhs.uk if you would like to take part, we would love to hear from you.
