Introduction

Welcome to your role as a health care support worker at HHFT- Bank Staff.

The induction programme is a three - day programme which is a mix of education sessions delivered by different training and clinical teams. Time on the ward would be allocated by the Bank Team.

The first section is allocated for E-learning, where all courses on green brain must be completed before the Face-Face induction begins.

The Second and third section are educational sessions which covers;

Manual handling and Basic Life Support (resuscitation) skills

Understanding and taking observations, National Early Warning Score and identifying the deteriorating patient.

The sessions are designed to introduce you to generic areas of healthcare that you may encounter in any ward or department.

Where there is a higher need for more role specific training that cannot be covered in depth on the induction programme, this will be delivered by the ward/department when you have commenced your role. Examples of this would be Emergency departments, theatres, and dementia wards.
