Venues and Parking
Days for the programme are located both in Winchester and Basingstoke. Parking can be a challenge in both areas.
Winchester
Parking is extremely limited the best and cheapest option is to use the Winchester Park and Ride service.
You will not be allowed to access the public parking level of the multistorey car park for attending training – even if you are prepared to pay or already have a hospital parking permit.
Basingstoke
There is no parking available on the Millenium/Vickers house sites.
If you already have a hospital permit, you can access the staff parking areas or you can park in the hospitals visitor’s payment car park, these are a short walk away from Millenium/Vickers house.
Shuttle Bus
There is a free shuttle bus that runs hourly between the Winchester and Basingstoke hospital sites and places are on first come first serve basis.
Please bring a pen and notebook to the training days: This workbook has been designed to be printed off for use throughout the programme.
Please be on time at the start of the day, returning from breaks and if attending any other training sessions as part of the programme. The days have been designed to run in a certain order and to cover information relevant for the HCSW role being late means you will miss content from the day and is disruptive to the running of the session.
