Practice Supervision & Assessment

The Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessor roles are positions you can do in addition to being a Nurse. These roles consist of the training and assessment of new trainee nurses, and ensuring that they meet educational standards.

Practice Supervisors help trainee nurses to practice safely and properly during their practical experiences on wards, ensuring that the trainees get a full and varied learning experience.

Practice Assessors help ensure that the assessments trainee nurses complete are fair and comprehensive, ensuring that the trainees fully meet the necessary criteria.

If you would like to become a Practice Supervisor, you can search Green Brain for ‘Practice Supervisor Preparation Training’, register and begin completing the e-learning modules. Once complete you will receive a ‘Next Steps’ email from the Learning Environment Team.

Practice Assessor Preparation Training is offered through a face-to-face workshop, offered on both BNHH and RHCH sites. To complete this training you need to meet certain criteria. Please email LearningEnvironment@hhft.nhs.uk to find out if this is training is suitable for you.
