Who should attend
Nurses/Drs/ODP’S Nurses from high acuity areas such as ED, CCU, AAU and theatre locations, but primarily those who carry the 2222 bleep. Also, nurses who have an in-charge capacity who are not at band 6 level or above, especially if in charge at night.
Course Aims/Objectives
- Recognise and treat the deteriorating patient using a structured ABCDE approach
- Prevent cardiac arrest
- Deliver standardised CPR in adults
- Deliver safe defibrillation (AED and/or manual)
- Become resuscitation team members
Course offering
There are 2 types of courses, a traditional 1-day course for ILS or a half-day e-ALS which conducts all lectures online.
