Moving and Handling - Minimal Patient Facing Staff

Who should attend

Patient facing staff who perform minimal patient moving and handling or who may occasionally recover a fallen patient from the floor. 

Course Aims/Objectives

This training will include giving patients minimal assistance, lateral transfer (bed to trolley with Patslide), hover Jack & post falls assistance and basic hoisting (for staff to maintain skills)

Course offering

Part 1: eLearning theory

Part 2: Face to face practical

You must complete BOTH parts to gain the competency

Moving and Handling - Full Patient Handling

Who should attend

Patient facing staff who are likely to perform the whole range of patient moving and handling at some point in the next 2 years. 

Course Aims/Objectives

This training includes everything from the ‘minimal patient-handling’ course as well as more complex hoisting (including bariatric, full slide sheets use, rotundas/stand aids and the standing hoist.

Part 2: Face to face practical

You must complete BOTH parts to gain the competency
