This is a team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants which covers a range of wards within BNHH and RHCH. The team prioritise urgent respiratory patients and discharges as well as providing a service at the Front Doors (ED, AAU, McGill) to ensure they are part of a team to prevent unnecessary admissions.
The team covers seven days and provides services from 8.30am - 4.30pm. There is also an on-call service from 4:30pm - 8:30am to cover urgent respiratory patients who would deteriorate if they were not seen by a physiotherapist. The on-call physiotherapist will be off site (up to 45 minutes away) and can be contacted via switchboard. There is a team based on Kingfisher ward at Andover War Memorial Hospital, their working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm.
This page contains resources to help inform individuals of appropriate referral criteria and processes for both discharge planning and respiratory patients. There is also the relevant contact numbers and bleeps for the therapy teams across sites.
