Changes to role
Am I permitted to change my role, or elements of my role whilst sponsored?
You are permitted to change role if your new role is within the same occupation code as the one you were originally sponsored for.
- For example, if you came to HHFT with sponsorship as a band 5 Registered Nurse, and you have a job on a different ward as a Band 6, this would be permitted.
- You would need to let the HR department know of the changes to ensure the UKVI system is updated to reflect your new working arrangements.
- However, if you came to HHFT with sponsorship as a band 5 Registered Nurse, you could not work as a Registered Midwife on your existing visa.
If some elements of your existing sponsored role change, for example you wish to reduce your hours, or you are temporarily seconded to a role in a higher band, you can remain on your existing visa but we would have to put a note against your sponsorship on the UK Visa & Immigration’s system.
