Changes were announced by the government on 4 December 2023 which came into effect in March and April 2024.

  • The general salary threshold for the majority of roles on a Health & Care Visa has risen to £23,200 where an occupation is on a national payscale (eg nurse, doctor, physio, etc).  For other roles, the threshold differs according to the role.  Contact the visarenewals team for further information.

  • All Health & Care Visa holders will continue to be exempt from paying the Immigration Health Surcharge.

  • The general salary threshold for those on a Skilled Worker Visa (but not a Health & Care Visa) is rising to £38,700 for new applicants who are not already in the Skilled Worker route.  For example, data analysts, IT and finance professionals, etc.  For existing staff on a Skilled Worker Visa and wishing to extend, there are varying salary thresholds depending upon role - please contact the visarenewals team for further information.

  • Dependents – Skilled Worker Visa and Health & Care Visa holders at HHFT are still permitted to bring dependents to the UK as part of their visa.

  • Family visas are not available to employees who are here temporarily on a work visa.
