Working additional hours

Is there a limit to the number of additional hours I can work?

Yes and no!

• If you choose to work extra shifts via our internal staff bank, there are no limits to the number of hours per week you can work.  However, you may need to consider ‘opting out’ of the European Working Time Directive, which limits the number of hours employees can safely work and the staff bank can provide you with additional information.
   
• Alongside this, you must always consider the impact that additional hours may have and ensure that you are taking adequate breaks to allow you some rest and recuperation.
   
• If you choose to work additional hours for an agency or other employer, the work must be in the same occupation as the one you have been sponsored for.  For this type of work, you can only work an additional 20 hours per week.
