Internal deployment opportunities are a great way for staff to learn new skills, try different roles, and grow their careers without changing jobs. They help people see how different teams work, build stronger connections across the organisation, and contribute to important projects.

Come join us – Be part of something big

We’re now inviting staff to express an interest in joining the Delivery Unit as Programme or Project Managers on a 3 to 6-month deployment as part of our Fit for the Future programme.

This is your chance to:
  • work on projects at pace
  • make a real impact on patient care
  • work with a passionate, experienced team
  • develop valuable new skills
  • contribute to high-profile programmes driving change across the Trust.

How to apply for deployment

Getting involved is simple—and open to all substantive or fixed-term staff across Hampshire Hospitals:

  • Register your interest by submitting the online short expression of interest form - Click here!
  • Selection will be fair and flexible, with support from your current line manager to agree a start date.
  • You’ll stay in your current role on ESR, with your terms and conditions unchanged.
  • Support and induction will be provided to set you up for success in the new role.
  • These temporary deployments are designed to be flexible, development-focused, and aligned to your existing band.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

We’re looking for colleagues who are:

  • Passionate change an improvement advocates, who can deliver at pace

That can:

  • Lead the delivery of complex projects or programmes from initiation to implementation
  • Work with stakeholders at all levels, including clinicians, operational leads, finance, and IT
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear, actionable delivery plans
  • Use improvement methodologies (e.g. QI, LEAN, Six Sigma, PDSA) to drive measurable change - this is a nice to have, as we are happy to develop your learning in this area if needed
  • Identify and track both financial (cash-releasing and non-cash) and quality benefits
  • Deliver at pace, under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Build strong relationships and lead change through engagement, not just process

Who might this suit?

These roles could be a great fit if you are:

  • Already managing change or improvement projects and want to develop your leadership further
  • An experienced manager, with a strong grip on delivery and outcomes
  • A team player who can work at pace, with energy, curiosity, and the ability to get things done—even when it’s complex

Whether you're applying for the Project Manager or Programme Manager role will depend on your current experience, but both roles offer a chance to:

  • Contribute to high-priority transformation programmes
  • Gain visibility across the organisation
  • Work in a highly supportive team focused on impact, collaboration, and results

Closing Date for expressions of interest is Friday 16th May.
