This is a legal document and must be kept in the patients notes and a copy sent to the community home oxygen team.
- The clinical code must be completed, otherwise HOOF will be rejected.
- Total hours of Oxygen delivery must add up to no more than 24hrs or else it will be rejected.
- Every patient who receives a concentrator is given a backup (large) cylinder.
- Prescriber should ensure that there is someone at the patients' property to receive home oxygen equipment, the oxygen company will not leave equipment if no-one is home.
- Try and avoid the 4hour urgent deliveries as they are expensive. 3 day and next day deliveries are encouraged where possible.
