Testing your sensors

If in certain circumstances, you intend to prescribe Novorapid PRN then please document your intentions/treatment plan clearly on JAC. Document when to administer PRN and whether this is to be prescribed on discharge.

NB: To correct hyperglycaemia with insulin, our Trust policy recommends using Novorapid S/C instead of Actrapid S/C due to risk of delayed hypos.

The Pharmacy team will be encouraged to query any prescription where Novorapid has been prescribed as PRN.
